Adotou-se os preceitos metodológicos da pesquisa qualitativa de análise temática com recurso a entrevistas semiestruturadas administradas individualmente a dez participantes. Os resultados do estudo revelaram a centralidade do discurso em dificuldades, responsabilidades e nos acidentes de trabalho, vinculados a sentimentos negativos com destaque na desvalorização, frustração, desmotivação e sintomatologia ansiosa. Concluiu-se pela vivência com influência negativa sobre a saúde dos profissionais, comprometimento da eficácia da atividade exercida, e necessidade de rutura com paradigmas obsoletos da temática.This research intended to know the perceptions of the experience of occupational safety technicians. It was used the methodological precepts of the qualitative research of thematic analysis with semi-structured individual interviews realized at ten participants. The study results revealed centrality of the speech in the difficulties, responsibilities and accidents at work, linked to negative feelings especially devaluation, frustration, demotivation and anxious symptomatology.
