A elaboração deste projecto tem como objectivo principal propor a reabilitação de um edifício pombalino, através da procura de novas tipologias para um habitar contemporâneo, bem como o questionamento de um novo modo de habitar contemporâneo. Pretende-se assim, com este estudo, contribuir para a reabilitação deste centro histórico da cidade, de modo a promover o retorno de pessoas, ao encontro do conceito de viver na cidade, sem esquecer no entanto que este local edificado no século XVIII, é hoje um local com vivências do século XXI. Pretende-se também com este trabalho, mostrar que é possível fazer a reabiltação de um edifício do século XVIII, mantendo a sua ideologia inicial, no caso a liberdade de ocupação interior, adaptando-o às necessidades de hoje, mantendo e prolongando o seu testemunho de património histórico, como contributo imprescindível de identidade cultural, não obstante colectiva, de cada Nação.Within the discipline of Project IV, the theme chosen for the conception of the Project Thesis is the rehabilitation project of a pombalino building, in downtown Lisbon. The main goal for the developing of this project is to propose the rehabilitation of a pombalino building trough the search of new typologies for a contemporary living and also the questioning of a new way of contemporary living. The aim of this study is to contribute to the rehabilitation of the historic city center, in order to promote the return of people, to meet the concept of living in the city, not forgetting however that this location of the eighteenth century is today a place with valences of the twenty-first century.
