All rights reserved.The university has affirmed itself throughout history as one of the poles of the spread of Western values and European and Western civilization. The construction of the university model in Latin America followed the fundamentals, principles and objectives of European universities, working, historically, as the cornerstone of Western Christian civilization. Mental and intellectual decolonization process manifests an monocultural and Eurocentric conception of the university, either in their structure or on the knowledge model that transmits. In this sense, cultural diversity existing in Latin America requires the construction of another University model which gives an account this epistemological diversity and contributes to the fulfillment of historical justice and the inclusion of cognitive cultures and peoples who have been silenced and oppressed by the various processes of colonization.
