Costa2013-11-142013-11-1420121646-1630http://hdl.handle.net/10437/4140Revista Lusófona de Ciência das ReligiõesAs situações canonicamente irregulares do matrimónio – resultantes de ruturas, e convertidas, civilmente, em divórcios e segundas núpcias – e a dificuldade desses fiéis conformarem as novas situações com a plena prática religiosa (sem interdição dos sacramentos) e a letra do Código de Direito Canónico, tem levado muitos católicos a afastarem-se da sua Igreja, ou abandonando as práticas da fé ou a abraçarem outras confissões eclesiásticas cristãs, onde não existe esse interdito. É uma preocupação profundamente sentida por muitos dos responsáveis eclesiásticos e pungentemente vivida no âmago mais íntimo da Igreja católica – o da profundidade da consciência dos seus fiéis. Nesta reflexão, pretendemos, tão-só, deixarmos mais um alerta para os aspetos que nos parecem de grande intransigência, maculada de farisaico legalismo institucional, e por demais denunciados, pela sua feição incoerente, por inúmeros teólogos, pastoralistas e psicólogos de fidelidade católica, aqui invocados.The breakdown of family ties and the implications on sacramental marriage have generated a new scenario, that of divorce and second marriage, conflicting with the Canon Low of the Catholic Church. As a result, the Church, though allowing fully involvement to religious practice, restricts the participation of re-married and divorced couples to the celebration of the sacraments, in particular, the reception of the Holy Communion. But this has led many faithful to walk altogether off the Church or to join other Christian denominations or even to embrace other faiths.
