On this subject the study at hand also analyzes the difficulties related to the applicability of human rights in these educational places, promoting discussions to arouse a critical consciousness both in students and educators for citizenship and walking towards a more democratic society. In order to achieve that, a questionnaire was elaborated from scratch and applied to students and teachers alike, not to mention the informal conversations had with the heads of the previous mentioned schools aiming at diagnosing the obstacles that may impose any difficulties in the process of guaranteeing these human rights. This research is based upon the theoretical reference of multiculturalism in education on Western societies and its relation with the constitution of citizenship as a right, highlighting the struggles and achievements of the minorities. It also analyzes the difficulties shown within the role of a teacher and the importance of the resumés and projects that address important subjects in these educational environments. It is expected, though this research, to clarify the importance and necessity of knowing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which will help in understanding the teaching and learning dilemma and how important this understanding becomes when solving conflicts, being the majority of them, critical to the well being of the group inside and outside the classroom.Esta pesquisa tem como foco principal os direitos humanos e objetiva analisar o conhecimento dos educandos e o envolvimento dos educadores nas Unidades Integradas: Ministro Henrique de La Roque, Escola Criança Esperança e Unidade Integrada Dr. Paulo Ramos. Sobre esta temática o referido estudo analisa ainda as dificuldades relacionadas à efetivação de direitos humanos nesses espaços educacionais, promovendo discussões para despertar uma consciência crítica nos educandos e educadores para o exercício da cidadania e para a construção de uma sociedade mais democrática. Para isso, elaborou-se um roteiro de questionários que foi aplicado aos alunos, e professores, além de conversas informais com gestores das mencionadas escolas para assim diagnosticar-se os entraves que dificultam a garantia desses direitos humanos. O referido estudo está alicerçado no referencial teórico do multiculturalismo na educação nas sociedades ocidentais e sua relação com a constituição da cidadania como um direito, destacando as lutas e conquista dos grupos de minorias. Analisa ainda as dificuldades relacionadas ao papel dos educadores e a importância dos currículos e projetos voltados para conteúdos significativos nesses espaços escolares.
