Este estudo consiste numa revisão bibliográfica sobre estes tópicos, e um relatório de estágio realizado em uma central reprodutiva de bovinos na República da Irlanda, com dois grupos de novilhas que foram inseminadas artificialmente utilizando-se da inseminação artificial em tempo fixo (IATF) e detecção de cio por raspagem de cartão colado no dorso da cauda. As taxas de concepção final para estes grupos foram de 97,6% e 84,1%, respectivamente. Palavras-chave: Inseminação; Bovinos; Diagnóstico de GestaçãoArtificial insemination (AI) is a widely reproductive biotechnology used in the bovine industry, it allows for the controlled breeding of animals, enabling the selection of specific genetics to improve productivity and efficiency, and transrectal ultrasound (US) is a noninvasive diagnostic tool that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to visualize and assess the reproductive tract of the female bovine, used to diagnose infertility, pregnancy, and other reproductive disorders. This study consists of a literature review about these topics, and a report from an internship at a cattle breeding station in the Republic of Ireland, with two groups of heifers that were artificially inseminated using fixed time artificial insemination (FTAI) and oestrus detection by scraping card glued to the back of the tail. The final conception rates for these groups were 97.6% and 84.1%, respectively.
