Esta temática surge como consequência do desenvolvimento do projeto, que decorreu durante o 5º ano do Mestrado integrado em Arquitetura. Projetou-se uma escola de dança, inserindo-a no Parque Municipal da Quinta da Conceição - objeto de estudo - em Leça da Palmeira. Assim, desenvolveu-se um processo de trabalho com abrangente pesquisa bibliográfica e consequentes reflexões e análises, necessárias à abordagem das temáticas associadas ao estudo que se pretendia realizar, desde o geral - o espaço urbano - ao particular - o Projeto. Inicialmente, analisaram-se os planos urbanísticos e os mapas cartográficos da região, assim como se sintetizou toda a informação, tendo em vista um conhecimento sólido do objeto de estudo e sua envolvente. Todo o processo permitiu, numa segunda fase, uma esquematização do desenvolvimento do aglomerado urbano, que neste caso se divide em malha urbana orgânico, malha ortogonal e malha urbana de crescimento linear. Após esta etapa, sistematizaram-se identificações e análises dos elementos urbanos que influenciam diretamente o objeto de estudo, com o intuito de perceber quais as interdependências urbanas entre estes. Já numa perspetiva focada apenas no objeto de estudo, desenvolveu-se a interpretação e descrição do mesmo, que passa pela análise histórica e descrição das intervenções a nível paisagístico do Arquiteto Fernando Távora, assim como a análise de dois equipamentos com maior destaque, a saber, Pavilhão de Ténis de Fernando Távora e a Piscina, de Siza Vieira. Por fim, procedeu-se à descrição do projeto da escola de dança que, invariavelmente, se encontra interrelacionado com a Quinta da Conceição e todos os seus elementos internos, mas também, de forma indireta, com toda realidade urbana em que se insere. A escola de dança foi um projeto desejado, conseguido e inserido numa paisagem que se respeita!This master's thesis focuses on the problem of the double role that the architect/urbanist should take in the action project, combining it with the essential urban analysis of its surroundings. This theme is a consequence of the project development that took place during the fifth year of the integrated Master degree in Architecture. A dance school was planned to be inserted in the Municipal Park in Quinta da Conceição – our case study – in Leça da Palmeira. For that, a work process was developed based on a wide theoretical framework and reflections and analysis were carried out. This was necessary in order to approach the interrelated topics of the study that was intended to put into practise from general – the urban space – to specific – the Project. Initially, the urbanistic plans and the region cartographic maps were analysed and all the information was summed up in order to obtain a solid knowledge of the study object and its surroundings. The whole process has allowed, in a second stage, the creation of a layout of the development of the urban area that is, in this case, divided in an organic urban grid, orthogonal urban grid and urban grid of linear growth. After this stage, identifications and analyses of the urban elements that directly influence the object of study were systematized in order to understand the urban interdependences that occur between them. From a perspective focused only on the object of study, an interpretation and description of that same object was developed taking into consideration the historical analysis and the description of the interventions at the landscape level of Architect Fernando Távora, as well as the analysis of two facilities of great importance, namely, the Tennis Pavilion by Fernando Távora and the Swimming Pool by Siza Vieira. Finally, a description of the dance school project was made. That same project is not only and invariably interrelated with the Quinta da Conceição and all its internal elements, but also, indirectly, with all the urban reality in which it operates.
