Com este artigo pretende-se partilhar uma reflexão acerca das potencialidades e os desafios que a abordagem colaborativa na investigação coloca ao investigador e sobre as possibilidades que as tecnologias têm vindo a oferecer para a operacionalização do processo colaborativo de investigação. Para cumprir este objetivo tomamos por referência os estudos de um grupo de investigadores portugueses, que se têm dedicado a desenvolver um software de dados qualitativos (o webQDA) disponível em ambiente colaborativo e distribuído.
