Trata-se de uma tipologia que faz parte da cidade desde a sua génese até aos dias de hoje, que por vezes é desvalorizada, mas que traz consigo saberes e tradições dos povos que passaram pela cidade, onde as raízes mediterrânicas ainda são presentes no seu urbanismo, apropriação e vivência dos espaços. O pátio que trás consigo a ideia de intimismo, mesmo quando se trata de espaços públicos, que nos levam para uma outra Lisboa que ali parece ter ficado pressa no tempo. Fazem parte do imaginário lisboeta, constituem referências ao passado ali revisitado que não se limita ao que é materialmente visível, mas inclui todo um conjunto de tradições e memórias, documentos vivos que conduzem à descoberta de uma realidade histórica que interessa recuperar e revitalizar.This research presents a study of the traditional courtyard Lisbon, with particular focus on those located in Alfama. It is a typology that is part of the city from its origins until the present day, which sometimes is undervalued, but that brings knowledge and traditions of the people who passed through the city, where the Mediterranean roots are still present in your urbanism, ownership and living spaces. The courtyard which brings with it the idea of intimacy, even when it comes to public spaces, which lead us to another Lisbon that there seems to have been in a hurry on time.
