The study is based on a qualitative case study and draws on data collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with three Portuguese trainers responsible for the Portuguese, Citizenship and Social Development and Themes in Literature and Culture subjects. Data suggests that didactic resources are still scarce and not delivered on time and that pedagogical practices are based on traditional models. Training provided is mainly focused on the resolution of tasks proposed in in the Teacher’s Guide and Student’s Textbook, as well as on the contents of specific subjects.
