Since his learning period to the degree of a Master, from the spiritual crisis till his meeting with Luther, Dürer represents the prototype of a sixteenth century initiate. Dürer has its roots in the neo-Pythagorean and Platonic tradition connecting the Renaissance Italy and the Northern Europe.
