Moutinho, Mário Caneva, orient.Ferreira, Máximo de Jesus Afonso2021-04-082021-04-082020http://hdl.handle.net/10437/11805Orientação: Mário Caneva de Magalhães MoutinhoO Projeto que se apresenta tem como objetivo principal registar, para memória futura, a génese e evolução do Centro Ciência Viva de Constância, enfatizando estratégias adotadas para que a instituição cumprisse o melhor possível a sua função de – com base em conceitos diversos ligados à Astronomia – sensibilizar cidadãos para as múltiplas facetas em que a evolução científica e tecnológica interfere no dia-a-dia das sociedades e as implicações, positivas e negativas, que daí advêm, para uma consciente vivência democrática. Em paralelo, descrevem-se algumas iniciativas levadas a efeito para associar memórias coletivas e individuais, com base na diversificação de atividades, meios e recursos técnicos tendentes a envolver pessoas numa inter-relação do passado com o presente, conciliando memórias com perspetivas atuais de melhorias em áreas como cultura científica e competências críticas na preparação do futuro. Tendo em conta a região geográfica e o meio cultural em que se localiza a instituição, e não abandonando a convicção de que, para além de uma possível intervenção a nível nacional, há que contribuir para a supressão de limitações locais, tomou-se a iniciativa de complementar a componente de Astronomia com ações ligadas à vida prática da região – no passado e no presente – e nas quais seja possível integrar, gradualmente, o envolvimento prático da população. Iniciou-se o projeto de, em torno do Lago Arquimedes, estabelecer um espaço de convívio e uso de utensílios e práticas (patrimónios nem sempre valorizados) que marcaram a vida local durante alguns séculos, ideia que se propõe – neste trabalho – desenvolver e alargar ao contacto com a natureza, à observação crítica de como as mudanças locais alteraram habitats de espécies e deram origem a paisagens bem diferentes das de um passado recente, e como estabelecer novas relações com realidades que poderão ser potenciadas com visões positivas, quer do ponto de vista do ambiente quer de melhorias de condições de vida. Como proposta mais empenhada deste Projeto, perspetivou-se a implementação de um percurso que levará participantes ao contacto com fauna e flora da região envolvente do Centro Ciência Viva, alcançando o rio Zêzere, navegá-lo até à foz e, aí – em plena zona histórica de Constância − evocar épocas e personagens, observar locais e testemunhos de monumentos e factos que fizeram deste pequeno território a “Notável Vila da Constância”.The main goal of the project presented here is to write down, for future memory, the birth and expansion of Centro Ciência Viva de Constância, underlining strategies that were chosen with the aim of better accomplish the mission of the institution, which is − based on several concepts related to Astronomy − to engage citizens towards the various features wherein the scientific and technological evolution meddles with the everyday life of the communities, and the positive and negative consequences that may occur, for a consciously democratic way of living. At the same time, a description is made of some initiatives carried out to link collective and individual memories, based on the diversification of activities, means and technical resources tending to implicate people in an interconnection between the past and the present, harmonizing memories with actual perspectives of improvements in such areas as scientific culture and critical skills in preparing for the future. Having in mind the geographical region and the cultural environment in which the institution is located, and not discarding the belief that, beyond a conceivable intervention at a national level, it is necessary to contribute to the removal of local limitations, a first step was taken to complement the Astronomy component with actions linked to the practical life of the region − in the past and in the present − and in which it will be possible to gradually integrate the active involvement of the population. The project started around Lago Arquimedes, where it was established a space for conviviality and use of tools and skills (patrimonies not always valued) that marked the local life for some centuries, an idea that - in this work - aims to be developed and extended to the contact with nature, to the critical observation of how local changes altered species habitats and gave rise to landscapes quite differents from those of a recent past, and how to establish new relationships with realities that might be enhanced by positive visions, either from the point of view of the environment or the improvement of living conditions.
