Deste modo, tem surgido um interesse crescente no desenvolvimento de sistemas que permitem obter uma ação local ou sistémica. Todavia, apenas uma pequena fração da dose das substâncias atinge o tecido alvo, sendo que a maior parte é desperdiçada, devido à impermeabilidade parcial da pele. Destarte, várias estratégias foram desenvolvidas para melhorar a performance das substâncias, entre as quais encontram-se os sistemas nanoparticulados que promovem a penetração das substâncias. Esta dissertação visa a dilucidar os sistemas nanoparticulados aplicados na pele. Com intuito de contextualizar o objeto de estudo deste trabalho, começou-se por entender a anatomofisiologia da pele, seguidamente os sistemas nanoparticulados existentes e por último as diversas aplicações destes sistemas tanto a nível cosmético como farmacêutico.The topical administration of drugs or active substances presents advantages over the commonly used routes of administration. Thus, there has been increasing interest in the development of systems that allow to obtain a local or systemic action. However, only a small fraction of the dose of the substance reaches the target tissue being most wasted due to the partial impermeability of the skin. So, several strategies have been developed to improve the performance of those substances, including the nanoparticulate systems which promote the skin penetration of the substances. This thesis aims to elucidate the nanoparticulate systems applied to the skin.
