Construídas pelo olhar objetivo do sujeito e pela sua imaginação e fantasia, estas representações têm também em vista a transformação da sociedade pela denúncia dos seus vícios, das suas patologias sociais, de forma a combater a “miséria portuguesa” de Oitocentos.This approach intends to demonstrate how the urban universe of Eça de Queirós, Abel Botelho and other writers from the 19th century has become a theoretical and poetic representation and a complex human text that is built on the overlap of subjective and objective images.
