Hoje, esta atividade atravessa uma fase difícil que compromete a sua continuidade. Assim, pretendemos que o presente trabalho constitua um projeto de reestruturação e revitalização de uma fábrica de bordados no Funchal, fundada em 1925, a “Patrício & Gouveia Sucrs. Ldª.”, considerada uma referência pela sua dimensão, singularidade e História, de forma a evitar o seu encerramento e posterior desmantelamento, e assegurando esse património para as gerações futuras. Este projeto fica enquadrado no campo da economuseologia como alavanca para o equilíbrio entre o desenvolvimento e a sustentabilidade de uma empresa e de uma atividade inseridas numa região que vive essencialmente do turismo. Nesta dissertação será ainda apresentada uma resenha histórica do Bordado da Madeira, desde a sua origem na região, até aos nossos dias, passando pelo processo de industrialização e fases que influenciaram a produção. Em suma, este trabalho resultou de um conjunto de olhares, aos quais se juntou a experiência de quem trabalha e gere esta casa e esta atividade.This proposal makes known the art of embroidery in Madeira, which is considered important for the sustainability and establishment of the majority of the population, mainly in rural areas and had, for over a century, an important role in economic, social and cultural development of the region and therefore is part of the collective memory from our people. Today, this activity goes through a rough patch that compromises its continuity. Therefore, we intend that this work will be the restructuring project and revitalization of an embroidery factory in Funchal, founded in 1925, "Patricio Gouveia & Sucrs. Lda.", considered a benchmark for its size, uniqueness and history, in order to avoid its closure and subsequent decommissioning, and ensuring that heritage for future generations. This is a project that fits in economuseology as leverage in order to have a balance between development and sustainability of a company and an inserted activity in a region that lives essentially on tourism. In this thesis will be also presented an historical review of Madeira Embroidery, from its origin in the region, to the present day, through the industrialization process and stages that influenced the production.
