A cidade absorve conceitos e componentes modernos (como a comunicação, o trabalho nómada, os novos pontos de encontro) e integra-os num sistema cultural e social ávido por receber tudo e o oposto de tudo. O Design como um acto de projecto portador de cultura que desafia a memória urbana, deve recuperar os antigos lugares de encontro da cidade, integrando-os nos fluxos urbanos actuais, facilitando e permitindo que a circulação de pessoas, materiais e informação possa acontecer em qualquer lugar da cidade.This paper aims to analyse the role of the Designer as an interpreter of settings for equipments who takes advantage of the modern technological potencial to redefine the urban space and thus respond to present urban demands. The city absorbs modern concepts and components (such as communication, nomad labour, new meeting points) and integrates them into a cultural and social system that is eager to welcome everything and the opposite of everything.
