Podemos detectar nela percursos de iniciação, constituídos por poços, subterrâneos, grutas, lagos, os quais estão centrados no tema da "morte e ressurreição", no caminho das Trevas para a Luz.Quinta da Regaleira with its Palace, Chapell and gardens with caves, lakes, wells, grottos and statues, has several symbolic references both to the world of Christianity and certain Fraternal societies (for instance neo-templars) and to the world of Mystery religions, Paganism and classic literatura (Dante's Divine Comedy).
