A investigação foi sistematizada como contributo para a reflexão sobre o redimensionamento das estratégias desses museus, de forma que eles não se limitem a realizar exposições de apurada tecnologia, relegando a segundo plano a potencialidade das coleções e a riqueza da ação compartilhada, mas que se transformem em espaços de construção do conhecimento e de cidadania. Durante o percurso, foi constatada a influência da Política Nacional de Museus nas ações de musealização dos MISes, evidenciada nos projetos patrocinados através dos mecanismos de fomento e financiamento do IBRAM/MinC. A viagem prossegue. A determinação é preencher lacunas deixadas, estimular outras investigações, suscitar o debate, reorientar o percurso e dar sentido à vida.This thesis, Museums of Image and Sound: the challenge of the musealisation of audiovisual collections in Brazil, presents the paths travelled in search of understanding how these museums carry out the research, preservation and communication of audiovisual collections and how the community involvement in this process occurs. The investigation was systematized as a contribution to the reflection on the resizing of the strategies of these museums, so that they are not limited to hold exhibitions of established technology, relegating to the background the potentiality of the collections and the richness of the shared action, but they become knowledge building spaces and citizenship.It has been found also the influence of national museums policy actions musealisation of MISes, evidenced in projects sponsored through the mechanisms of encouragement and financing of IBRAM/MinC. The journey continues.
