Emphasis is placed on the theoretical framework of Postcolonial Studies and how the presence of a hegemonic “other” can influence the formation of identity. More specifically, I will show how the culture of the “colonizer” is internalized and how the two authors assimilate the cultural dominant before immigrating.Este texto visa analisar duas autobiografias imigrantes numa perspectiva pós-colonial, com especial incidência no enquadramento teórico dos Estudos Pós-coloniais.
