Resumo
O Turismo de Eventos está a assumir um papel cada vez mais importante como
produto complementar ou como um núcleo de atracção principal, originando uma nova
forma de lazer turístico em que os visitantes estão mais interessados na autenticidade e
evasão do quotidiano.
O Turismo de Eventos pode funcionar como uma alavanca para o desenvolvimento
de destinos competitivos, atractivos e genuínos e deve ser associado a experiências/
organização de eventos que incluam elementos típicos do destino.
O desenvolvimento da região em análise, Algarve e Sub-região do Litoral
Alentejano, como destino de Turismo de Eventos deve estar extremamente interligado com
eventos específicos dos Concelhos dado o respectivo potencial de estímulo do marketing e
marca dos destinos turísticos. O Turismo de Eventos também pode ser extremamente
relevante na promoção e desenvolvimento sustentável das culturas locais, conservação dos
recursos naturais e contribuição para as economias regionais dando origem a soluções
vantajosas para todos os intervenientes no processo e demonstrando a capacidade dos
destinos turísticos em se diferenciarem de outros destinos concorrentes.
Além disso, potencia a atractividade turística da região em análise através da
organização de eventos, na perspectiva do aumento e diversificação da oferta turística e da
atenuação da sazonalidade.
Event Tourism is assuming an ever growing important role as a complementary product or as a main attraction pole, originating a new touristic leisure form in which visitors are more interested in authenticity and escape from quotidian. Event Tourism can work as leverage for the development of competitive, attractive and genuine destinations and should be associated to experiences/events’ organization that include typical elements from destinations. The development of the researched region, Algarve and the Alentejo’s Southwest Coast, as an Event Tourism destination should be extremely interconnected to specific events of the municipalities given its potential to stimulate the tourist destination marketing and brand. Event Tourism can also be extremely significant to the promotion and sustainable development of local cultures, natural resources’ conservation and contribution for regional economies giving origin to advantageous solutions for all stakeholders involved in the process and demonstrating the tourist destination’s ability to differentiate from other competitor destinations. Besides that, it improves the tourist attractiveness from the researched region through the events’ organization, at the tourist offer enlargement and diversification levels and also contributing to the reduction of seasonality.
