Item Intervención psicológica en mujeres menopáusicas : implantación de un programa para la reducción de la ansiedad y depresión(Edições Universitárias Lusófonas, 2006) Camuñas, N.; Ojeda, J.; Prieto, L.; Vindel, A. Cano; Iruarrizaga, I.; Tobal, J. J. Miguel; Escola de Psicologia e Ciências da VidaAnxiety and sadness are emotional responses which commonly ocurred in all human beings; however, high levels of such responses can lead to allow the onset of emotional disorders, often involved in women during the menopausal period (Hunter, 1990; Sánchez-Cánovas, 1996). In this paper, a cognitive-behavorial programme is presented for reducing anxiety and depression levels in group of women (n=9) with ages ranging between 50 and 61 years. This programme was carried out in the C.I.S. of Arganzuela (Madrid City Hall). The programme included 15 sessions structured in three phases: pre-treatment assessment, treatment, and post-treatment assessment. During pre and post- treatment phases the following assessment instruments were administared: The Inventory of Situations and Responses of Anxiety - ISRA- (Miguel-Tobal & Cano Vindel, 1986, 1988, 1994), the beck Depression Inventory -BDI- (Beck, ward, Mendelson, Mock & Erbaugh, 1961; Beck, Rush, Shaw y Emery, 1979), and the Inventory of Solving and Coping with Problems (Miguel Tobal & Casado, 1992). Treatment phase focused on the application of several cognitive-behavioral techniques for controlling the above mentioned variables. Results showed signifcante decreases in both anxiety and depression levels and an increase in psychological well-being.Item Locus de control y ira(Edições Universitárias Lusófonas, 2006) Pérez Nieto, M.; Cano Vindel, A.; Tobal, J. J. Miguel; Camuñas, N.; Iruarrizaga, I.; Escola de Psicologia e Ciências da VidaAnger has been related with external attributions in different theoretical models. However, from the theory of “locus of control” stand points (Rotter, 1966) anger as an emotional response has not received as sufficient attention as would be desirable, instead of aggression. The present paper explores relationship between external locus of control and anger as emotion as well as anger expression and anger control. For this purpose, different assessment instruments were administered to a sample of 177 undergraduate students (27 males and 150 females), these are as follows: Rotter Scale (Rotter, 1966), Spanish version by Pérez García (1984); the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (S.T.A.X.I.) by Spielberger (1988, 1991), Spanish version by Spielberger, Miguel-Tobal, Cano-Vindel, and Casado (1992); and Questionnaire of Control, Defense and Expression of Emotions (C.D.E.) by Cano-Vindel and Miguel-Tobal (1996). A correlational study between different scales of the instruments and a mean differences analysis between extreme groups (highs and lows) on locus of control were carried out. These group were balance in gender variable. Results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between external locus of control and anger. Especially, external locul of control subjets trend to manifest more anger-out and lower anger-control. This results deals with a better knowledge of the attributional processes associated with coping with anger as emotional response. In this sense, this better knowledge allow us to design better effective prevention programmes on anger in a future time.
