    The aim of this study is to identify within a public Institute, a technological scenario for business recovery via recovery solutions of low investment and enabling the simultaneous reduction in operating expenses. For the preparation of the present study was used the methodology of scientific research of case study with exploratory purpose in order to obtain answers to the questions proposed. Regarding the State of the art adopted a methodology based on the research literature concerning the business continuity plan, risk management, risk analysis and assessment or business impact analysis. The research carried out by external consultants, it was concluded that, by application of the business impact analysis methodology, systems considered extremely critical and strategic for your organization are the email system, central system directory, file repository and the main information system of business support. It was even possible to identify, through the case study disaster recovery scenarios that best fit the Organization's current situation in study, respond to issues of research.
