Resumo
A temática da imagem de destino turístico emerge como particularmente relevante enquanto ferramenta de gestão dos destinos turísticos,considerando que a Imagem constitui uma componente crítica na selecção dos mesmos,sobretudo num contexto de grande competitividade.É geralmente aceite que o processo de formação, estruturação e avaliação da Imagem de um destino turístico se reveste de grande dificuldade, em face do alargado e complexo leque de abordagens epistemológicas existentes, do número infinito de factores intrínsecos ao próprio consumidor, da sua experiência ou influências externas, os quais parecem afectar a escolha de um destino turístico.Este trabalho pretende constituir um contributopara a discussão e sistematização da problemáticada Imagem de Destino Turístico publicadana literatura científica recente
The topic of Tourist Destination Image is particularly relevant if we consider it as a tool for tourist destinations’ management.In fact, the image is view as a critical factor for the selectionof tourist destinations, mainly on a context of great competitiveness. There is a large consensus about the difficulties of measuring the Tourist Destination Image-formation, structuration and evaluation process, because there is a vast and complex battery of epistemological approaches, infinity of consumer intrinsic components, the experience with the destination and some external influences, among others, which seem related with his or her decision to visit a certain destination.This paper aims to discuss and systematize the recent published scientific literature about the problematic of Tourist Destination Image.
