dc.description.abstractApresentamos a visão de um engenheiro, que desenvolveu projectos na área dos sistemas de informação e das telecomunicações e a de um médico cardiologista de intervenção, que conhece a necessidade de encurtar o tempo de decisão para o tratamento em Cardiologia. Com osAgentes Médicos a utilizar as novas tecnologias de comunicação, abrem-se outras perspectivas, na decisão médica, no arquivo e troca de informação clínica,que se resume num exercício da medicina mais eficaz. Esta experiência conjunta da Engenharia e da Medicina, leva-nos a "olhar" de uma forma diferente a Telemedicina e a telesaúde.A decisão médica vai estar mais próxima dos doentes, quer no espaço, quer em tempo útil. Salientamos algumas das vantagens e benefícios para os doentes, Médicos, Técnicos de Saúde, Gestores e outros agentes do nosso Sistema de Saúde. Por último, o nosso conhecimento nestas áreas leva-nos a sugerir alguns projectos para Portugal, em áreas como a Tele-radiologia,Tele-hemodinámica,Tele-electrocardiografia eTelesaúde-Monitorização de Sinais Vitais.pt
dc.description.abstractOur aim is to introduce the experience of an engineer who developed projects in the area of the information systems and telecommunications and that of an interventional cardiologist who understand the necessity to improve the decision timing in Cardiology. With the use of new communication technologies in Medicine, there are newperspectives, which should be considered and adapted to the evolution of theInternet and telecommunications.This joint experience of Engineering and Medicine changes our way of looking at Telemedicine and Telehealth. The patients will have access to health care in any place without any further delay.We also refer some advantages and benefits to patients, doctors, health technicians, managers and other agents of our Health Care System. Finally, our knowledge of these areas makes us suggest some projects for Portugal in areas like Tele-radiology, Telehemodynamic, Tele-electrocardiography and the monitoring of vital parameters.en
