The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of sexually aggressive behaviors among college students of both genders, and the differences between sexually aggressive men and women in the endorsement of psychopathological symptoms, rape myths, and emotional regulation difficulties. The sample consisted of 546 heterosexual male and female college students. Findings revealed that men (44.5%) resorted to more sexually aggressive strategies than women (30.2%), namely Sexual Coercion and Physical Force. No significant differences between men and women were found regarding Sexual Abuse. It was also found that sexually aggressive females endorsed more psychopathological symptoms and more emotional regulation difficulties, while sexually aggressive males endorsed more rape myths. These results stress the need to implement prevention and intervention programs in college campuses, with a focus on well-being and mental health, emotion regulation, and rape myths.
