Estatuto Científico do Turismo no Ensino Superior Português

Abstract

O debate proposto parece ser oportuno no âmbito dos objectivos do Seminário Epistemologia do Turismo. O artigo aporta alegações relevantes sobre a natureza científica e académica do Turismo. Neste âmbito, o enquadramento teórico discute o seu actual estatuto científico e a maturidade como disciplina. A investigação sistematiza os dados a partir do estudo aplicado à realidade do ensino superior português, com o intuito de demonstrar a importância desta área após a implementação das mudanças curriculares e educativas do Processo de Bolonha. Na sequência desta análise podemos concluir que o Turismo tem sido reconhecido paulatinamente como Ciência e Disciplina, nomeadamente em Portugal.The suggested debate seems to be opportune concerning the objectives of the Seminar Tourism Epistemology. This article presents relevant assertions about the scientific and academic nature of Tourism. In this way, the theoretical framework analyses its present scientific status and maturity as a subject. The investigation systematizes the data from the study, applied to the reality of the Portuguese higher education, with the purpose to demonstrate the importance of this area after the implementation of the curricular and educational changes of the Bologna Process. In the sequence of this analysis, we can conclude that Tourism has been gradually recognized both as a Science and a Subject, namely in Portugal.
