Relación entre prejuicios, competencia emocional y estrategias de afrontamiento en estudiantes de Educación Social : estudio exploratorio en tres universidades españolas

Resumo
Estudo quantitativo exploratório no qual são analisados os preconceitos, a competência emocional e as estratégias de sobrevivência dos estudantes de Educação Social de três universidades (Universidade de Barcelona, Universidade de Valencia e Universidade de Granada), a fim de melhorar a formação inicial e o seu desenvolvimento profissional, destacando o potencial e os desafios dos nossos estudantes. A recolha de dados é realizada através de um questionário de auto-percepção composto por quatro componentes: a) Dados sociodemográficos e de identificação, b) Escala de preconceitos para grupos minoritários, c) Escala de desenvolvimento emocional em adultos e d) Escala de lidar com conflitos num contexto de diversidade e aplicado a uma amostra de 135 estudantes universitários. Os resultados mostram que não há diferenças significativas entre os sexos, embora as mulheres tenham menos preconceitos. Constata-se que as pessoas que desenvolveram mais competências emocionais lidam melhor com os seus conflitos e que os mais jovens têm melhor competência emocional e melhores estratégias de resolução. O antissemitismo, o anti-cristianismo e o anti-LGTBI continuam a chamar a atenção no coletivo estudantil. Portanto, a educação transformadora da universidade é necessária para poder executar futuras acções educativas e profissionais que tenham um impacto global. Exploratory quantitative study that examines prejudices, emotional competence and coping strategies of Social Education students from three universities (University of Barcelona, University of Valencia and University of Granada) in order to improve initial training and their professional development, highlighting the potential and challenges of our students. The data collection is carried out through a self-perception questionnaire made up of four components: a) Socio-demographic and identification data, b) Scale of prejudices towards minority groups, c) Scale of emotional development in adults and d) Scale of coping with conflicts in the context of diversity and applied to a sample of 135 university students. The results show that there are no significant differences between genders, although women are less prejudiced. It is found that people who have more developed emotional competence cope better with their conflicts and that younger people have better emotional competence and better coping strategies. Anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity and anti-LGTBI continue to attract attention in the student collective. Therefore, transformative education from the university is necessary that to be able to carry out future educational and professional actions that have a global impact.
