Pedagogia social e educação social no cenário brasileiro : para além e aquém dos muros da escola

Resumo
A educação como prática social é complexa, permeada por tensões, dilemas e conflitos, que exigem um posicionamento ético e político. Dessa forma, este artigo aborda as temáticas da Pedagogia Social e da Educação Social com o objetivo de analisar concepções teóricas e propor provocações sobre novas perspectivas e possibilidades para essa área. Aborda também o papel do educador social em seus múltiplos espaços de atuação, com foco especial na Educação Popular. A metodologia norteadora do trabalho é de abordagem qualitativa, embasada em uma pesquisa de caráter bibliográfico. A construção do referencial teórico foi fundamentada em autores como Caliman (2009, 2010, 2011), Freire (1996), Gadotti (2007) entre outros. Conclui-se que a Pedagogia Social está alicerçada nas ciências da educação e é entendida como uma ciência por ter seu próprio campo de atuação: a Educação Social. Concentra seus esforços em sujeitos em situação de vulnerabilidade social, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento humano e fortalecendo os laços sociais por meio de ações educativas libertadoras e emancipatórias. Assim, é imperativo que a Pedagogia Social ultrapasse os muros da escola, fazendo uníssono e explodindo o grito de justiça social, para aquém e para além deles.
Education as a social practice is complex, permeated by tensions, dilemmas and conflicts, which require an ethical and political positioning. Thus, this article addresses the themes of Social Pedagogy and Social Education with the objective of analyzing theoretical conceptions and proposing provocations about new perspectives and possibilities for this area. It also addresses the role of the social educator in his multiple areas of action, with a focus on in Popular Education. The guiding methodology of the work is a qualitative approach, based on a bibliographic research. The construction of the theoretical framework was based on authors such as Caliman (2009, 2010, 2011), Freire (1996), Gadotti (2007) among others. It is concluded that Social Pedagogy is based on the education sciences and is understood as a science because it has its own field of action: Social Education. It focuses its efforts on subjects in situations of social vulnerability, contributing to human development and strengthening social bonds through liberating and emancipatory educational actions. Thus, it is imperative that Social Pedagogy goes beyond the walls of the school, making unison and exploding the cry of social justice, beyond and below them.
