Following the crisis of the industrial society, the representation in terms of work and class conflict has weakened. The structure of the working class is divided and even the vocabulary has changed. Now we hear of exclusion, rather than of exploitation. The idea of the centrality of the social conflict is not adapting itself to the complexity and fragmentation of the contemporary, post-industrial societies.
