Resumo
Neste trabalho procurámos estudar a importância do estatuto de emprego – empregado vs. desempregado nos níveis de felicidade e do bem-estar. Para o efeito foi recolhida uma amostra de 418 indivíduos, com idades entre os 18 e os 55 anos ((M = 37.04; DP = 9.03), sendo 178 do sexo masculino (42.6%) e 240 do sexo feminino (57.4%), dos quais 185 (44.3%) estavam desempregados, com um tempo de desemprego que variou entre 1 e 84 meses (M = 15.56; DP = 12.54). Os instrumentos usados foram um questionário de dados sociodemográficos, o Comprehensive Inventory of Thriving (CIT - Su, Tay & Diener, 2014), o Hedonic and Eudaimonic Motivations for Activities (HEMA-R, Huta & Ryan, 2010), o Orientation to Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ - Peterson, Park & Seligman, 2005), a Extended Life Orientation Test (ELOT - Chang, Maydeu-Olivares e D’Zurilla, 1997) e o Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS - Watson, Clark & Tellegen, 1988). Os resultados evidenciaram valores superiores de motivações hedónicas, afetividade negativa e pessimismo nos desempregados, enquanto a idade e o sexo dos participantes não se mostraram relevantes.

We used a demographic data questionnaire, the Comprehensive Inventory of Thriving (CIT -. The results showed higher values of hedonic motivations, negative affectivity and pessimism among the unemployed, while the age and sex of the participants were not relevant.
