European history has been marked by violence, wars, persecutions and intolerance which have provoked countless victims. This violence was taken by the Europeans to other continents through the colonial and imperial expansionism which deeply marked the twentieth century. Therefore, we must rejoice at the this stage of the European construction that directly involves twenty-five countries. Nevertheless, the complex European reality must not be frustrated by means of bureaucratic and obscure methods. This complex reality is not only due to cultural diversity but also due to the existence of nationalities problems and serious social and economic disparities. Moreover, other factors that must not be forgotten are the difficult relationships with Southern and Eastern populations and the situations that arise from the fact that these populations are migrating in order to have a better life in the most developed countries of the European Union.
