| dc.description.abstract | A discussão sobre a preservação dos edifícios modernos e, mais do que eles, dos edifícios ou conjuntos arquitetónicos significativos do Movimento Moderno que, quer pelas suas qualidades arquitetónicas, quer pela sua recetividade ao longo do tempo, caracterizaram-nos como manifestos construtivos ou monumentos culturais. É nesse pressuposto que surge a presente dissertação. O presente documento divide-se em duas partes, a primeira define-se como um estudo teórico, abordando temas, não exclusivamente ligados ao património, mas considerando-o importante quando associado a edifícios industriais. É feita uma referência a alguns dos principais intervenientes na produção arquitetónica no Algarve durante o Movimento Moderno, e algumas noções presentes em cartas e convenções, referentes à salvaguarda de edifícios industriais. O estudo prossegue com a evolução tipológica e formal dos edifícios industriais, e a relevância dos mesmos no início do Movimento Moderno. Onde se aprofunda o caso português cronologicamente, em função dos acontecimentos significantes a nível sociocultural, paralelamente a um apanhado de alguns dos edifícios industriais mais proeminentes a nível nacional. É feita uma seleção de estudos de caso, onde surgem edifícios como, a Faculdade de Arquitetura de Évora, a Oliva Creative Factory, o Centro Avançado de Formação Pós-Graduada em Guimarães e a Escola Superior de Tecnologia do Barreiro. Deste modo realizou-se uma composição onde se reúnem assuntos relacionados com a reabilitação de edifícios industriais modernos. Servindo de mote e apoio para a segunda parte da dissertação, onde se materializa uma intervenção num edifício. É feita uma requalificação da Adega Cooperativa de Portimão, alterando o uso para uma escola de ensino artístico. | pt |
| dc.description.abstract | The discussion on the preservation of modern buildings, particularly, buildings or significant architectural ensembles of the Modern Movement that, both for its architectural qualities, either by their receptivity over time, were characterized as constructive manifestos or cultural monuments is inherently controversial in relation to modernism itself. It is this assumption that arises this thesis. This document is divided into two parts, the first is defined as a theoretical study, addressing issues, not exclusively linked to heritage, but considering it important when associated with industrial buildings. A reference is made to some of the key players in the architectural production in the Algarve during the Modern Movement, and some notions present in charters and conventions relating to the protection of industrial buildings. The study continues with the typological and formal evolution of industrial buildings, and the relevance of the same in the beginning of the Modern Movement. Which deepens the Portuguese case chronologically, due to the significant socio-cultural events, along with an overview of some of the most prominent industrial buildings nationwide. A selection of case studies, where buildings such as the Faculty of Architecture of Évora, Oliva Creative Factory, Advanced Postgraduate Training Center in Guimarães and the School of Technology Barreiro arise is made. Thus we carried out a composition where issues are met related to the rehabilitation of modern industrial buildings.
