The cosmology of The Lusiads reveals an understanding of the Universe in which Religion, Aesthetics and Science are articulated in a unified system, which results from the harmonization, created by Luís de Camões, between Paganism and Christianity. This spiritual path, that I call disdramatization/ undramatization, consists of a consciousness process in which the dual oppositions between subject and object are attenuated, i.e., the dramatic distinction between the “I” and the “other” disappear: the transcendence of the identification of the self with the aspect of the body from which the persona is built. To transcend the dionysiac universe through the subjective relationship between man and god, and the objective relationship between god and man, having as medium the universe of Sensibility and Creativity. This form of spirituality, the camonian eroticism, could be the result of the compared understanding of the occidental and oriental spiritual traditions.
