This research aimed to better the replication of the original model of Lee (1973) to the portuguese population, evaluating gender differences in romantic love. The sample consisted of 302 participants who were in a romantic relationship. The assessment protocol consisted of a sociodemographic questionnaire and the following measures: Relationship Assessment Scale – RAS (Hendrick, 1988); Sternberg Triangular Love Scale – STLS (Sternberg, 1986); Love Attitudes Scale – LAS (Hendrick & Hendrick, 1986); Passionate Love Scale – PLS (Hartfield & Sprecher, 1986); Trust in Close Relationships Scale – TCRS (Rempel, Holmes & Zanna, 1985) and Multidimensional Jealousy Scale – MJS (Pfeiffer & Wong, 1989).The results indicated a inicial structure of twelve factors being forced to a six factors structure as in the original study. No significant differences were found between sexes with regard to the six styles of love. There were found positive and significant correlations between Eros and Agape, between Ludus and Pragma and between Pragma and Mania, and even negative and significant correlations were found between Eros and Ludus and between Ludus and Agape.
