A tese romântica de uma invasão ariana na Índia (que os historiadores positivistas tradicionais defendiam e que ainda hoje se mantêm), não podia tolerar a vetusta antiguidade dos Vedas, provada pela informação astronómica neles contida. De facto, nos Vedas não se encontra uma única referência a invasão, nem aí consta nenhuma descrição geográfica que possa ser identificável com a Ásia central, com os Balcãs ou com a Anatólia. (…) O modelo de autenticidade científica actual, atravessa uma profunda crise do paradigma dominante originado pelo racionalismo, que no caso da Indologia começou com Max Müller, A. B. Keith, J. Eggeling, W. D. Whitney, A. A. Macdonell e outros.
The romantic theory of an Aryan invasion in India didn't accept the old antiquity of the Vedas, based on astronomical information. Truly in the Vedas there is not one single reference to invasions, nor there it shows any geographical description that it can be identifiable with central Asia, the Balkans or even Anatolia. (…) The model of modern scientific authenticity crosses a deep crisis of the dominant paradigm originated by the rationalism, and in indological studies starting with Max Müller, A. B. Keith, J. Eggeling, W. D. Whitney and others.
