A presente investigação teve como objetivo geral analisar as relações entre as competências sociais e a qualidade de vida em adolescentes, numa amostra constituída por 204 adolescentes, dos quais 130 eram raparigas, com uma média de idades de 15.11 anos (DP = 1.33) e 74 eram rapazes, com uma média de idades de 15.34 anos (DP = 1.31), frequentando em média o 9º ano de escolaridade. A fim de avaliar as variáveis, foram utilizados o Social Skills Rating System, o Kidscreen-27 e um questionário sociodemográfico. Os resultados demonstraram que as raparigas apresentaram mais competências sociais do que os rapazes e que os rapazes relataram níveis mais elevados de bem-estar físico do que as raparigas. Verificou-se ainda, os jovens com melhor qualidade de vida apresentaram melhores competências sociais. Os resultados obtidos foram analisados tendo por base a literatura existente e as suas implicações para o trabalho nesta área.
