Resumo
Este artigo procurou compreender a temática da relevância social do alembamento na cultura ambundu em Malanje. Para tal, foram pesquisados e analisados dados de natureza qualitativa provenientes dos participantes relativos à pesquisa. Porquanto, busca fundamentar telegraficamente as mudanças ocorridas na prática do alembamento enquanto instituição social do povo ambundu, bem como os seus efeitos tendo em conta o abandono dos seus ritos tradicionais. Da sua análise, constatou-se que, o alembamento é o casamento propriamente dito nesta cultura, revestido de imensos ritos de passagem que garantem a sua legitimidade social, quanto a sua relevância social visa unir e honrar as famílias. Entretanto, a neutralização do processo de iniciação, da figura do tio e da tia e a não legalização no ordenamento jurídico angolano, são factores que incidem com as mudanças registadas hoje na prática do alembamento e a sua banalização social.
This article sought to understand the social relevance of alembamento in the ambundu culture in Malanje. To this end, qualitative data from participants relating to the research were researched and analyzed. Therefore, it seeks to telegraphically substantiate the changes that occurred in the practice of alembamento as a social institution of the Ambundu people, as well as its effects, taking into account the abandonment of their traditional rites. From its analysis, it was found that alembamento is the marriage in this culture. It is covered with immense rites of passage that guarantee its social legitimacy, as its social relevance aims to unite and honour families. However, the neutralization of the initiation process, the figure of the uncle and aunt and the non-legalization in the Angolan legal system influence the changes registered today in the practice of alembamento and its social trivialization.
