Resumo
O movimento Renovamento Carismático Católico (RCC) é o movimento com o crescimento mais rápido em todo o mundo. Cresceu em menos de cinquenta anos de zero para mais de 150 milhões de católicos romanos. Conforme Matteo Calisi, o RCC é o maior movimento de reavivamento e renovação na história da Igreja Católica Romana. Nunca houve em toda a história da Igreja Católica um evento carismático semelhante a este. Tendo-se iniciado em 1967 nos Estados Unidos através de contactos e influência do pentecostalismo, foi desde logo acompanhado pela Igreja, a qual, com a supervisão do cardeal Suenens, acabaria por integrá-lo plenamente. Uma das caraterísticas do RCC foi as excelentes relações que foram persistindo ao longo do tempo com algumas Igrejas pentecostais devido, obviamente ao substrato pneumatológico comum a ambos os lados. Ultimamente, no pontificado do atual papa Francisco, têm sido feitos contactos ecuménicos bastantes promissores, abrindo-se assim uma nova dimensão da espiritualidade na Igreja rumo à unidade.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) movement is the fastest growing movement worldwide. It has grown in less than fifty years from zero to more than 150 million Roman Catholics. According to Matteo Calisi, the CCR is the largest revival and renewal movement in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. There has never been a similar charismatic event in the entire history of the Catholic Church. Having started in 1967 in the United States through the contacts and influence of Pentecostalism, it was from the beginning accompanied by the Church, which, under the supervision of cardinal Suenens, would eventually be fully integrated. One of the characteristics of the CCR was the excellent relations that have persisted over time with some Pentecostal churches due, obviously, to the pneumatological substratum common to both sides. Lately, with the pontificate of the current Pope Francis, there have been quite promising ecumenical contacts, thus opening a new dimension of spirituality in the Church towards unity.
