Resumo
Este trabalho tem por objetivo investigar como o evento do Holocausto
é representado na literatura brasileira, através do relato de testemunho
Quero Viver... memórias de um ex-morto (1976), de autoria do judeu-
brasileiro Joseph Nichthauser, que narra suas memórias como vítima
do Holocausto nos anos de 1939 a 1945. A literatura de testemunho difundiu-
se pelos diversos países que tiveram eventos violentos ou que acolheram
as vítimas de catástrofes, como, por exemplo, o Brasil, que recebeu
imigrantes judeus em busca de refúgio no país. Esta obra é o primeiro relato
de testemunho escrito em português e publicado no Brasil e, através dela,
é possível perceber como questões como o trauma e a memória são abordados
por intermédio da narrativa e, também, como a narrativa auxilia o
sobrevivente na superação do trauma. As contribuições teóricas de Walter
Benjamin, Michael Pollak, Regina Igel e Márcio Seligmann-Silva servem de
base para essa pesquisa.
This work aims to investigate how the event of the Holocaust is represented in Brazilian literature, from the perspective of the Brazilian Jewish author Joseph Nichthauser´s Quero Viver... memórias de um ex-morto (1976), who tells his memories as a victim of the Holocaust from 1939 to 1945. The literature of testimony spread over several countries that had experienced violent events or received the victims, such as Brazil, which received Jewish immigrants seeking refuge in the country. This literary work is the first report of testimony written in Portuguese and published in Brazil and through its analysis we can understand how issues such as trauma and memory are addressed through the narrative, and also how the narrative assists in overcoming the trauma survivor. Walter Benjamin, Michael Pollak, Regina Igel and Márcio Seligmann-Silva theoretical contributions serve as a basis for this research.
