Considera-se que é cada vez mais importante estudar variáveis que não estão diretamente relacionadas com a saúde mental. Desta forma, o presente estudo analisou o bem-estar psicológico, a satisfação com o trabalho e com as necessidades psicológicas básicas numa amostra de militares da Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR). Recorreu-se a uma amostra de 200 sujeitos, sendo que 100 exercem funções operacionais e 100 exercem funções administrativas, aos quais se aplicaram os seguintes questionários: questionário sócio-demográfico, Escala de Bem-estar psicológico de Carol Ryff, (1989ª), versão portuguesa de Novo, Duarte-Silva e Peralta, 2004; Basic Need Satisfaction in General Scale de Johnston e Finney, (2010), versão portuguesa de Sousa, Pais-Ribeiro, Palmeira, Teixeira e Silva, 2012; Satisfação com o trabalho de Pais-Ribeiro e Maia, (2006). Nos resultados verificou-se que existe uma correlação positiva entre a satisfação das necessidades psicológicas básicas e a satisfação com o trabalho. A relação com os colegas é a dimensão de satisfação com o trabalho com a média mais elevada. A satisfação com o trabalho e a autonomia da satisfação das necessidades psicológicas básicas são preditoras do bem-estar psicológico.
It’s considered that it’s more and more important to study variables that aren’t directly associated to mental health. Thereby, the present study examined the psychological well-being, job satisfaction and also the basic psychological needs of a military sample of the Republican National Guard (GNR). It was used a sample of 200 individuals, of which 100 are performing operational functions and 100 perform administrative functions, to whom were applied the following surveys: demographic questionnaire; Psychological Well-being Scale by Carol Ryff, 1989a, Portuguese version by Novo, Duarte-Silva and Peralta, 2004; Basic Need Satisfaction in General Scale by Johnston e Finney, 2010, Portuguese version by Sousa, Pais-Ribeiro, Palmeira, Teixeira e Silva, 2012; Satisfação com o Trabalho by Pais-Ribeiro and Maia, 2006. In the outcomes turned out that there is a positive correlation between the satisfaction of basic psychological needs and job satisfaction. The relationship with colleagues is the dimension of job satisfaction with the highest average. The job satisfaction and the autonomy of the satisfaction of basic psychological needs are predictors of psychological well-being.
