do acontecimento, conforme discutido
This essay reviews a crime intensely reported by the Brazilian media, the murder of a 15 years old young woman by her exboyfriend, aiming to consider its sociocultural inscription and the media’s construction work of the event. Although scarcely discussed under this perspective, the crime integrates itself in a sequence of women murdered by their former companions, configuring, therefore, a gender issue. In analysing the mediatic coverage, privilege was given to the approach of the event’s individuation process, as discussed by L. Quéré, which includes several steps: categorization, narrativization, pragmatic expression, inscription as a public problem and normalization.
