Há vários anos que se vem debatendo a questão do aborto e a sua despenalização, que se concretizou em Portugal no ano de 2007. Pela importância da temática, no âmbito da Interrupção Voluntária da Gravidez, a presente investigação pretende aprofundar algumas das motivações das mulheres associadas a um processo de escolha pela IVG, numa abordagem
que se centra no diálogo que as mesmas estabelecem com este processo, juntamente com as
representações das próprias sobre o tema Interrupção Voluntária da Gravidez.
A população-alvo da pesquisa são as mulheres adultas e adolescentes das Consultas de Gravidez Indesejada da Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa, localizada na cidade de Lisboa; trata-se de um espaço próprio de acompanhamento clínico, social e psicológico organizado após a concretização da lei da despenalização do aborto, que permite às mulheres exercer a sua opção pela interrupção da sua gravidez num ambiente que lhe proporciona privacidade.
Através de uma perspectiva que não se quer limitar apenas às questões sociais e económicas, pretende-se reflectir acerca da forma como alguns dos factores inerentes à vida
individual de cada mulher, assim como o contexto social, ambiental e familiar em que estão inseridas, podem influenciar a sua decisão, perante uma gravidez que pode ter sido ou não desejada/planeada, e que não tencionam prosseguir.
O presente processo de investigação é orientado por uma estratégia indutiva/
abdutiva, pelo que se privilegiam sentimentos, perspectivas, emoções das inquiridas na análise de conteúdo das 20 entrevistas semi-directivas aplicadas às mulheres participantes.
Os discursos das entrevistadas revelam que, tanto adolescentes como adultas, associam a IVG nomeadamente a uma solução perante uma gravidez que não foi planeada e a situações de carências sócio-económicas; no entanto e relativamente à representação que cada uma apresenta e destacando o grupo das mulheres adultas, parte destas assumiram uma posição contra o aborto por princípios ou questões religiosas.
Detectou-se, no entanto, o principal factor no ruído de diálogo produzido entre a
decisão e as mulheres: a maior parte assume um sentimento de tristeza face a esta decisão.
Reconhecendo a importância do Serviço Social no aconselhamento,
acompanhamento e apoio às mulheres que optam pela IVG, esta investigação pretende acima
de tudo dar voz às mulheres, a quem grande parte da sociedade condena moralmente.
For several years it has been debating the issue of abortion and its legalization, which is practiced by Portugal in 2007. Given the importance of the issue within the voluntary interruption of pregnancy, this research aims to deepen some of the motivations of women associated with a process of choice by Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy, an approach that focuses on dialogue that they have with this process, together with the representations of themselves on the subject Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy. The survey's target population are adult women and adolescents of Queries Unintended Pregnancies Maternity Dr. Alfredo da Costa, located in Lisbon, this is a proper place of clinical monitoring, social and psychological organized after the implementation of the law of the decriminalization of abortion, which allows women to exercise their option for the interruption of her pregnancy in an environment that gives you privacy. Through a perspective that will not only limit the social and economic issues, we intend to reflect on how some of the factors within the individual woman's life, as well as the social, environmental and family in which they operate, can influence your decision, before a pregnancy that may or may not be desired / planned, and does not intended to pursue. This research process is guided by an inductive / abductive strategy so if you emphasize feelings, perspectives, and emotions of those surveyed in the content analysis of twenty semidirectives applied to women participants. The speeches of the interviewees indicate that both adolescents and adults, including Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy associate a solution before a pregnancy that was unplanned and situations of socio-economic deprivation, however, and on the representation that each of displays and highlights the group of women adult part of these took a position against abortion on religious principles or issues. It turned out, however, the main factor in the noise produced dialogue between the ruling and women: most assume a feeling of sadness in the face of this decision. Recognizing the importance of Social Work in counseling, monitoring and support women who choose voluntary interruption of pregnancy, this research aims above all to give voice to the women to whom much of society largely condemned morally.
