Resumo
O propósito do artigo é analisar as modalidades de educação de adultos, implementadas peloMinistério da Educação do Chile, com o objectivo de avaliar a relação entre educação de adultos e formaçãocívica dos alunos. Este estudo, feito através da participação dos estudantes em diversos tipos de organizaçõessociais, baseia-se numa análise quantitativa, com enfoque empírico analítico e num design não experimental.A amostragem por grupos heterogéneos, representativos das instituições de ensino na cidade de Santiago,permitiu fazer um levantamento/ e aplicar questionários a 523 alunos. Os resultados demonstram que estesalunos se caracterizam por uma participação informal, com baixa interacção social e centrada mais na esferado domínio privado que na do domínio público. Em conclusão, constatou-se que a intensidade e o tipo departicipação desta população mostram diferenças significativas entre as distintas modalidades e fornece dadospara a necessidade de ajustar o currículo de educação para a cidadania, reduzindo-se, assim, os factores derisco do insucesso escolar contribuindo para a melhoria da inclusão social dos sectores mais excluídos no Chile.
The purpose of this article is to analyze adult education programs set up by the Ministry of Education in order to afford the relationship between adult education and citizenship education of students. The relationship is observed through the participation of beneficiaries in different kind of social organizations. This research is based on a quantitative analysis, empirical analytical approach, and non-experimental design. The sample, representative of educational institutions of Santiago city, allowed to survey 523 students. Results show up that these students are characterized by an informal participation, with low social and private-centered interaction instead of public. In conclusion, it was determined that the intensity and the type of participation of this population, shows significant differences between the different adult education programs, confirmation that provides inputs to adjust the curriculum in citizenship education, decrease risk factors for academic failure and improve the impact on the social inclusion of the most excluded sectors in Chile.
