dc.description.abstractA saúde mental foi descrita durante muito tempo como a ausência de psicopatologias. Os conceitos de saúde mental mudaram nos anos mais recentes. Existe hoje um consenso crescente de que a saúde mental não é somente a ausência de doença mental, mas inclui também a presença de sentimentos positivos (bem-estar emocional) e funcionamento positivo na vida individual (bem-estar psicológico) e vida comunitária (bem-estar social). A presente investigação teve como objetivo avaliar a natureza e a estrutura fatorial da Escala Contínuo da Saúde Mental Reduzida (MHC-SF) em estudantes universitários. Participaram no estudo 269 indivíduos, sendo que 102 eram do sexo masculino (37,9%) e 167 do sexo feminino (62,1%), que preencheram um questionário de dados demográficos e as escalas Contínuo de Saúde Mental Reduzida, Satisfação com a Vida, Afetividade Positiva e Negativa e de Felicidade Subjetiva. Os resultados da análise de eixos principais mostraram uma estrutura de três fatores: Bem-estar Psicológico, Bem-estar Social e Bem-estar Emocional, com uma Variança total explicada de 60,5%, sendo que o primeiro fator o Bem-estar Psicológico explica 40,5% da Variança, o segundo fator o Bem-estar Social 12,3% e o terceiro fator, o Bem-estar Emocional 7,7% da Variança. A escala do contínuo da saúde mental versão reduzida apresentou boas qualidades psicométricas e correlações positivas com as escalas de satisfação com a vida, felicidade subjetiva. dc.description.abstractMental health was describe for a long time as absence of psycopathologies. But in the recent years the concept of mental health changed. Today there is a growing consensus that mental health is not only the absence of mental illness, but also include the presence of positive feelings (emotional well-being) and positive functioning in individual life (psycological well-being) and communitarian life (social well-being). The present investigation had as goal to evaluate the factorial nature and structure of the Mental Health Continuum Short Form (MHC-SF) in universitarian students. In this study participated 269 indivíduals, 102 males (37,9%) e 167 females (62,1%) who fulfiiled a socio-demographic questionnaire and the scales of Mental Health Continuum Short Form, Satisfaction with Life, Positive and Negative Affect and Subjective Happiness Scale. The analysis results of the main axes showed a three factors structure: Psycological well-being, Social well-being and Emotional well-being, with a total explained variation of 60,5%. The first factor (Psycological well-being) explaines 40,5% of the variation; the second factor (Social well-being) explaines 12,3% and the third factor (Emotional well-being) explaines 7,7%. The Scale of Mental Health Continuum Short Form showed good psychometrics qualities and positives correlations with the satisfaction scales with life, subjective happiness. With the positive and negative affectivity scale, the correlations were positive with positive affectivity and negatives with negative affectivity.en
