Resumo
Este relatório de projeto apresenta as várias fases da criação, produção e receção
da Instalação artística Aneurysm, num exercício de animação expandida. Parte-se das
seguintes questões de investigação: Como desenvolver uma dimensão visual intimista,
abstrata e metafórica do tema, recorrendo ao conceito de animação expandida? Que
estratégias de animação expandida podem ser implementadas, para aprofundar a
comunicação artística e, simultaneamente a literacia da saúde? como organizar uma
instalação artística que sensibilize e cative a audiência para este tema? Qual deve ser o
foco para promover o seu envolvimento: dados estatísticos e informação, pensamentos e
histórias pessoais, sensações, sentimentos, afetos, cenas reais, sofrimento, reflexão,
presença?
O projeto teve como objetivos: i) Explorar criativamente meios de animação, ii)
Realizar um projeto intimista e minimalista, iii) Desenvolver um projeto de animação que
sensibilize sobre o tema aneurisma, iv) Investigar abordagens e práticas de avaliação
artísticas já experimentadas noutros contextos, desenvolvendo um projeto de reflexão e
prática de instalação artística para o mestrado em Artes de Animação. A pertinência do
tema enquadra-se na natureza aberta da animação à inovação e a temas novos, alternativos
e futuros, no atual momento de viragem da cultura visual, com destaque para a atenção
aos afetos, solidão e problemas de saúde. Utilizando uma metodologia de investigação
baseada na prática, descreve-se e analisam-se as instalações e os resultados das interações
com as audiências, realizadas entre junho e setembro de 2022, a par das particularidades
da animação expandida nesse contexto.

This project report presents the various stages of creation, production and reception of the Aneurysm art installation, in an exercise in expanded animation. It starts with the following research questions: How to develop an intimate, abstract and metaphorical visual dimension of the theme, using expanded animation? What expanded animation strategies can be implemented to deepen artistic communication and, at the same time, health literacy? how to organize an art installation that sensitizes and captivates the audience for this theme? What should be the focus to promote their involvement: statistical data and information, thoughts and personal stories, sensations, feelings, affections, real scenes, suffering, reflection, presence? The project's objectives were: i) Creatively explore means of animation, ii) Carry out an intimate and minimalist project, iii) Develop an animation project that raises awareness about the aneurysm theme, iv) Investigate approaches and practices of artistic evaluation already tried in other contexts, developing a project of reflection and practice of artistic installation for the Masters in Animation Arts. The relevance of the theme fits into the open nature of animation to innovation and to new, alternative and future themes, in the current turning point of visual culture, with emphasis on attention to affections, loneliness and health problems. Using a practice research based methodology, the installations and the results of interactions with audiences, carried out between June and September 2022, are described and analyzed, along with the particularities of expanded animation in this context.
