Resumo
A confiança social é um construto que tem sido estudado ao longo de diversas
disciplinas e é central na compreensão do funcionamento dos indivíduos, grupos e sociedade.
A presente dissertação tem como objetivo estudar a estrutura dimensional da confiança
social, bem como as suas relações com personalidade, bem-estar e saúde. Para isso, foi
utilizada uma amostra de conveniência constituída por 204 adultos, (56% do sexo feminino e
44% do sexo masculino), com uma média de idade de 28,72 anos (DP=10,35) e uma
escolaridade média de 14,79 anos (DP= 2,06) O protocolo de investigação foi constituído
pelas seguintes medidas de autorrelato: Confiança Social (STM), Big Five Inventory (BFI),
Termómetro da Felicidade, Escala de Satisfação com a Vida (SWLS), Escala de
Florescimento (FS), Escala de Experiências Positivas e Negativas (SPANE), e Questionário
do Estado de Saúde SF-8 (HPQ SF-8).
Verificou-se que 34% da variância na confiança social foi explicada por amabilidade e
experiências positivas, em ambos os sexos.

The present dissertation aims to study the dimensional structure of social trust and its associations with personality, well-being and health. For this purpose a convenience sample with 204 adults (56% female and 44% male) was used. The participants ‘age average was 28,72 years (SD= 10,35) and 14,79 years (SD=2,06) of education average. The investigation protocol comprehended the following self-rated measures: Social Trust Measure (STM), Big Five Inventory (BFI), Happiness thermometer, Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS), Flourishing Scale (FS), Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), and Health Perceptions Questionnaire SF-8 (HPQ SF-8). Main results showed 34% of social trust variance was explained by agreeableness and positive experiences on both males and females.
