Resumo
O Manual escolar e a curiosidade pelo saber. Estratégias pedagógicas em
manuais de Português (7º/10º anos) investiga a possibilidade de as atividades de
manuais desenvolverem a ‘curiosidade pelo saber’ numa (re)construção de
aprendizagens através de uma educação problematizadora e uma progressiva
autonomia, promotora de ‘aprendizagens significativas’ pelo aluno e tendo por
companheiro o manual, que “continua a ser, de longe, o suporte de aprendizagem
mais difundido e … o mais eficaz” (Gerard & Roegiers, 1998, p.15).
Mediante uma abordagem qualitativa, analisámos manuais de (7º/10ºanos),
após a ‘Reorganização Curricular- Ensino Básico’ (2001) e a ‘Reforma-Ensino
Secundário’ (2004), a partir de ‘situações problemáticas’ que desenvolvam essa
curiosidade e realizámos entrevistas semidiretivas e questionários
(alunos/professores) sobre o uso desses manuais, incluindo depois registos de
trabalho em aula.
Partindo de orientações legislativas, confirmadas ou infirmadas pelo
enquadramento teórico, repensamos, através dos manuais, a interpretação, a
monitorização do currículo e o(s) modelo(s) de organização de práticas educativas.
Os resultados orientam-se para a necessidade de uma leitura crítica do
fomentar da autonomia e de um pensar crítico na construção de aprendizagens
duradouras, na utilização das propostas de atividade, a partir da ‘curiosidade do
aluno’.
The schooltextbook and the student’s curiosity for knowledge. Pedagogical strategies in Portuguese school textbooks – grades 7th and 10th investigates the possibility for the awakening of the student curiosity by school textbooks’activities, thus stimulating learning, autonomy and critical thinking, because “school textbook is, by far, the most efficient and popular tool for learning” (Gerard & Roegiers, 1998, p.15). By means of a qualitative approach, from ‘problematic situations’ framed on a curriculum by ‘competences’, and focused on the ‘High Education Reform’, 2004/ ‘Basic Curricular Reorganization’, 2001’ textbooks, we conducted semi direct interviews/ questionnaires (teachers/ students) and classroom observations in public schools. Departing from legislative guidelines, confirmed or infirmed, we aim to rethink the interpretation and monitoring of curriculum and analysis of the organizational models of educational practices in this school textbooks’ route. Data findings lead us towards the need for a critical thinking concerning the development of autonomy to develop long lasting leanings using the proposed activities of school textbooks, either in classroom or as homework, regarding the student’s curiosity. Thus, we hope this investigation will contribute to the rethinking of practices mainly in the learning-teaching process in the Portuguese domaine.
