As investigações referentes à espiritualidade têm crescido cada vez mais no âmbito
da Psicologia. A espiritualidade pode definir-se no esforço em desenvolver uma conexão
consigo mesmo, os outros, a natureza e o transcendente. O presente estudo tem como objetivo
compreender a relação entre o Bem-Estar Espiritual com as Atitudes Acerca da Morte e a
Solidão em adultos. Com esta finalidade, 266 participantes responderam a um questionário de
dados demográficos e as medidas Questionário de Bem-estar Espiritual, Escala de Paz de
Espírito, Escala de Avaliação do Perfil de Atitudes Acerca da Morte e a Escala de Solidão -
UCLA.
A estrutura fatorial e as características psicométricas do Questionário de Bem-Estar
Espiritual foram favoráveis e atestaram a adequação dos dados ao modelo utilizado pelos
autores da versão original para população portuguesa.
Observou-se que algumas dimensões do Bem-estar Espiritual estão correlacionadas
de forma significativa com as dimensões das Atitudes Acerca da Morte e com a Solidão. Os
participantes apresentaram níveis de Bem-estar Espiritual diferentes quando considerado o
sexo e a religiosidade. Os participantes religiosos apresentaram níveis mais elevados de Bemestar
Espiritual em relação aos não religiosos, possuindo os homens religiosos níveis mais alto
de Bem-estar espiritual nas dimensões Total e Transcendental em comparação com as
mulheres religiosas.
Investigations concerning spirituality has grown increasingly in the context of psychology. Spirituality can be defined in the effort to develop a connection with yourself, others, nature and the transcendent. This study aims to understand the relationship between the Spiritual Well-Being with the Loneliness and Attitudes About Death in adults. To this end, 266 participants answered a demographic questionnaire and measures Spiritual Well- Being Questionnaire, Peace of Mind Scale, Death Attitude Profile – Revised and UCLA Loneliness Scale. The factor structure and psychometric characteristics of the Spiritual Well-Being Questionnaire were favorable and confirmed the adequacy of the data to the model used by the authors of the original version for the portuguese population. It was observed that some dimensions of the Spiritual Well-Being are correlate significantly with the size of the Attitudes About Death and Loneliness. Participants presented Spiritual Well-being different levels when considering sex and religion. Religious participants showed higher levels of Spiritual Well-being in relation to non-religious, religious men possessing the highest levels of Spiritual Well-being in the dimensions Total and Transcendental compared to religious women.
