Aonde nos leva a diversidade da língua portuguesa?

Resumo
É verdade que a língua é um diassistema, no qual se inter-relacionam diversos sistemas
e subsistemas. Isso não significa que a sua unidade seja posta em questão, pelo menos,
enquanto todos os seus falantes se entenderem. É o que se passa em relação à língua
portuguesa. Mas se as diferenças entre a norma escrita do Português do Brasil (PB) e a
do Português europeu (PE) são mínimas, já o mesmo não se pode dizer quando temos
em conta os dialectos, nomeadamente os da variante do PB, pois estas apresentam
acentuadas diferenças entre si. Por isso mesmo, o que se afigura mais urgente fazer será
resolver o problema da unidade da língua dentro do próprio Brasil para que, a breve
trecho, os próprios brasileiros não tenham dificuldades em se entenderem uns aos
outros.
It is true that language is a diasystem, in which several system and subsystems interrelate. That does not mean that its unity may be questioned, in so far as long as all native speakers can understand one another. This is the case of the Portuguese language. But, if there are only a few minor differences in what concerns the written aspect between Brazilian Portuguese (BP) and European Portuguese (EP), the same can not be said about the regional dialects, especially in BP, for they present extreme variations between themselves. This is why, it is urgent to solve the problem of language unity in Brazil, so that, in a short term, Brazilian people can communicate with each other without experiencing any kind of difficulty.
