Associação entre os mitos de violação, ativação fisiológica e resposta emocional face a clip de violência sexual

Resumo
No âmbito da compreensão do fenómeno da violência sexual, a literatura foca-se
no estudo do papel dos mitos de violação na perpretação e legitimação dos
comportamentos de violência sexual. Por isto, este estudo tem como objetivo
compreender o papel dos mitos de violação na forma como os indivíduos do género
masculino respondem emocionalmente à visualização de clips de violência sexual e de
violência física contra mulheres. Para tal, participaram neste estudo 30 estudantes do
género masculino. Os resultados mostraram algumas associações significativas entre os
mitos de violação e a forma como os sujeitos responderam emocionalmente aos clips de
violência, sobretudo ao menor afeto negativo face ao clip de violência sexual. Espera-se
com este estudo fomentar a investigação na área, no sentido de uma melhor compreensão
acerca dos processos psicológicos implicados nos comportamentos de violência sexual.
In the context of understanding the phenomenon of sexual violence, the literature focuses on studying the role of rape myths in perpretation and legitimization of sexual violence behaviors. Therefore, this study aims to understand the role of rape myths in how male individuals respond emotionally to viewing clips of sexual violence and physical violence against women. To this end, 30 male students participated in this study. The results showed some significant associations between rape myths and the way subjects responded emotionally to clips of violence, especially the lower negative affect towards the clip of sexual violence. It is hoped that this study will foster research in the area, towards a better understanding about the psychological processes involved in sexual violence behaviors.
